Individual and Group Coaching Supervision

Coaching Supervision does not mean the act of overseeing or managing someone’s work or performance.  Rather, Coaching Super-Vision is more akin to a professional reflective practice, guided by a certified coach supervisor.

What is Coaching Super-Vision?

We prefer to use a hyphenated form of the word: “Super-Vision”, or perhaps better described as a professional reflective practice. At the heart of this practice is gaining a more insightful view of one’s coaching than can be gleaned in the immediate demands of a single coaching or coach mentoring session.

My definition: the practice of stepping into the balcony with your Coach Super-Vision partner to take a bird’s eye view of your clients, your practice, and your self; reflecting on what you observe. The aim is twofold: enhancing your own artistry in coaching; and enlightening your perspective on the ethical dilemmas and systemic dynamics of your coaching client situations.

Coaching is more of an art than a science.  Coach Mentoring is about knowledge and technique. Coaching Mastery requires more than just doing and knowing ~ it requires harmonizing the head, hands and heart, all while “dancing in the moment”. Coaching Super-Vision is a keyway to help coaches master that dance.

How does Coaching Super-Vision benefit you?

It provides the safe container, either individually or in groups, to explore the distant drum of the larger world, the systems in which our clients live, and our own hidden beliefs or biases that might impact our coaching.

  • Explore diverse perspectives and approaches
  • Heighten awareness of what is going on within yourself
  • Coach with greater intuition and impact, ease and fun
  • Illuminate blind spots, biases or beliefs (in self or others)
  • Identify and consider ethical dilemmas
  • Address emotional identification with a client’s issue
  • Examine sticky situations, ethical issues, and systemic impacts
  • Handle more complexity in your coaching (with confidence)
  • Explore and incorporate creative coaching practices
